Meet Dr. Carl Kuhlman PHD

“You’ve been absolutely instrumental in my mental health, not to mention my family’s. You are truly amazing and brilliant, and kind and we are all so very grateful.”

—G.C., mother of 3, Denver, CO

DrKuhlman headshotMy philosophy of practice is summarized by two rules for life:

  • Keep your head in the right place, and
  • Take the next step.

My mission is to inspire my clients by providing tools to interpret and respond to situations differently. I offer new paradigms to understand yourself, as well as the reasons for your feelings. I help my clients see situations as opportunities to grow and evolve, in order to experience more good in life.

My mission is also to encourage my clients by offering focus and clarification on what steps to take to improve. Homework assignments provide opportunities to turn therapeutic insights into action plans to use in life outside the therapy session.

My style is behavioral and humanistic; collaborative and cooperative; didactic and synergistic. My approach is scientific using evidence-based treatment. My role is to help clients solve lifelong issues, at higher and higher levels, to increase life satisfaction and happiness.

“One last thing, you helped me a lot. You’re the only reason . . . I know I have ADD and you helped me deal with the BS (at work). . . . (You’re) the only reason I’m not divorced already and still see my daughter every day. Thank you for that.”
